William V. Douglass
William V. Douglass is a principal with the firm and a member of the firm's Business and Real Estate Transactions and its Environmental and Land Use Practice Groups. Bill grew up in San Luis Obispo and received his B.S. degree in Journalism from California Polytechnic State University. He received his J.D. degree from the University of California Hastings College of Law in 1996, and joined Andre, Morris & Buttery in 1997. Bill concentrates his practice in business law, real property transactions, land use and intellectual property law.
A sampling of the matters Bill has handled includes:- Represents clients in sales and acquisitions of companies and assets, locally and nationwide.
- Represents large and small business clients in the formation and operation of corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships and other business entities.
- Closed numerous real property sales and purchases, ranging from small commercial and residential properties to regional shopping centers and hotels, and represented buyers, sellers, developers and managers of shopping centers and hotels locally and nationwide.
- Represents clients in protecting and licensing the intellectual property they own and develop, such as trademarks, trade secrets and proprietary information, and assisted clients in avoiding infringing on the intellectual property rights of others.
- Involved in the representation of a national petroleum company in the cleanup of oil contamination as well as resolving claims with landowners in the surrounding area.
Bill is a former member of the Board of Trustees of the San Luis Obispo County Land Conservancy.
